Cool down with a refreshing glass of Caribbean Dreams Ginger Iced Tea. Made with bold ginger tea, fresh citrus and fragrant thyme, this easy recipe delivers a delicious balance of warmth, sweetness and zesty flavour.

It is the perfect drink for family gatherings, weekend lunches, outdoor entertaining or a relaxing afternoon at home.

Serving Size

Makes approximately eight 8-ounce servings.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups water

  • 8–12 Caribbean Dreams Ginger Tea bags, depending on your preferred strength

  • ½ cup sugar, or to taste

  • 2 lemons, thinly sliced

  • 4 limes, thinly sliced, as an alternative to the lemons

  • 4–6 fresh thyme sprigs

  • 4 cups ice cubes

  • Additional citrus slices and thyme sprigs, for garnish

Method

1. Brew the Ginger Tea

Bring the water to a boil in a large pot.

Remove the pot from the heat, add the Caribbean Dreams Ginger Tea bags and allow them to steep for approximately 10 minutes.

Use eight tea bags for a lighter ginger flavour or up to 12 tea bags for a stronger, more robust brew.

2. Sweeten the Tea

Remove the tea bags and stir in the sugar while the tea is still warm. Continue stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Adjust the amount of sugar according to your preferred level of sweetness.

3. Add the Citrus and Thyme

Add the lemon slices and thyme sprigs to the brewed tea.

When using limes instead of lemons, add the lime slices once the tea has cooled slightly to help maintain their fresh, bright flavour.

Allow the citrus and thyme to infuse as the tea cools.

4. Chill and Serve

Place the tea in the refrigerator until completely chilled.

Fill each glass with ice, pour in the ginger tea and garnish with additional citrus slices and a fresh sprig of thyme.

Serve immediately and enjoy.

Serving Tip

For the best flavour, prepare the ginger tea a few hours ahead and allow it to chill in the refrigerator before serving. This gives the citrus, ginger and thyme more time to blend beautifully.

Optional Variations

For a different twist, try adding:

  • Fresh mint leaves for a cooling finish

  • Orange slices for a sweeter citrus flavour

  • Honey instead of sugar

  • Sparkling water just before serving for a fizzy ginger iced tea

  • A few pieces of fresh pineapple for a tropical touch

A Cool Taste of the Caribbean

With the bold flavour of Caribbean Dreams Ginger Tea, fresh citrus and aromatic thyme, this simple iced tea is a refreshing way to enjoy ginger in every sip.
